Apogee Spirulina

Nicholas Petrovic at Apogee Spirulina has been growing spirulina in two large greenhouses since 2015 using the small-scale French artisan method he learned in France. Interns from Santa Fe Community College work with Nic to grow, extrude, and dry spirulina into “sprinkles”, which are then packaged for sale. Shoppers can eat the sprinkles by adding them to smoothies, sprinkling atop salads, or enjoying them directly from the bag.

About

At Apogee, we have a great crew of algae lovers that work hard to cultivate the best spirulina. We farm our spirulina the way the French artisans taught us: small batch, by hand, with care and the utmost concern that the algae you’re putting into your body is the best and healthiest spirulina out there. And so our mission is to pass it forward. We offer our spirulina workshops, work with the greenhouse management program at Santa Fe Community College and take on interns every season.
